Superior’s 25th Year – Our Yearlong celebration begins this month!
That’s right, hard to believe it but on February 28, 2002, Superior Home Care was born, making March 2026 the start of our 25th year touching lives in life changing ways.
We’ve seen and survived many changes in the home care landscape over the past 24 years and in each one of those years we’ve grown stronger and more grounded in our Mission and focus. Today we are more certain than ever before that our way of providing care, and caring for our team, definitely does make us the Superior choice in home care.
This accomplishment is no small milestone in our industry, so we plan on celebrating the awesomeness of turning 25 all year long! Stay tuned to future newsletters for ways we’ll be celebrating across this year.

We are creating a Float Team!
What exactly is a float team, you ask?
A Float team at Superior is one of the tactics we are working on to tackle the daily struggle of covering all shifts for all clients – one of our most important client promises. Every week we manage multiple open shifts as a result of call offs, planned vacation time, and new client onboarding.
Superior’s Float Team will be comprised of caregivers who voluntarily elect to be a floater either in addition to their regular weekly schedule, or exclusively as a caregiver whose schedule changes each week based on where open shifts are. There are real benefits to being a floater on this team – Each hour worked in this float status is paid at $20/hour and for every 50 hours worked as a floater, you earn an additional $50 monetary bonus in your pay.
Any credentialed caregiver can be on the float team – you access the benefit of the $20/hour pay and any bonus earned as you pick up shifts and work them.

AI is Becoming a Home Care Game Changer
If you don’t already know this – AI (artificial intelligence) – is rapidly changing the world we live in, some of these changes are amazing, some are frightening.
In home care, thankfully, the changes we are seeing AI bring to our work are in the amazing category. We already do use different types of basic AI in our work – mostly in how we communicate across out team behind the scenes. But technology is sure changing in our field, and rapidly.
Over the last year we’ve been actively and thoughtfully considering a variety of new AI tools specifically designed for the home care industry, tools that help us improve our consistency, our reach and our follow through.
We have been impressed with ways AI can much more efficiently and accurately manage several different aspects of our operations – freeing up our administrative team to focus more intently on what we enjoy the most in our work – building and maintaining relationships with our team members, clients and community.
Over the next several months, we will begin implementing some new AI processes internally with a gradual implementation of each. Stay tuned to future newsletters as we will highlight each AI integration the month it rolls out.

Let’s have some FUN!!
We’re going to have some fun with this March issue – part of our 25th Year celebration!
The first 5 caregivers who answer this question via email to Kim at kim@superiorinhome.com will win 500 Zingage points. Here is your question:
What is our office address?
Employee of the Month
Based on total performance points earned in Superior’s Reward system – Zingage.
- Trisha Thomas – top points earner for hours worked the month of February! No surprise here! Congratulations Trisha!
The Best Side Hustle Out There!
Are you looking for a way to earn some extra money AND help us reach more clients in need of care?
Well look no further! Our Employee Referral Program could put as much as $450 in your pocket every month.
That’s right – $450! Refer just 3 people who are hired and work at least 90 days, and you could $450 ($150 per referral).
And even better, on each referred person’s anniversary date with us for as long as they work with us – you get another $25. If you’ve referred 6 people in the year and they all stay for a year, that’s another $150.
Great caregivers are all around you – in your neighborhood, apartment building, at your child’s school or on their sports team, at church – even your own family members may be a great fit for us. Simply spread the word that we are hiring, and send them to us. You also can add anyone you recommend right in Zingage and we’ll reach out directly.
Here are areas we are currently looking for caregivers in:
- Monongahela/Donora/Belle Vernon
- Clairton
- West Mifflin
- Millvale/Aspinwall
- Hazelwood/Homestead
- Northside
- Munhall
- Monroeville
