Dementia & Alzheimer’s Care Specialists
Understanding Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease
Dementia is a broad term describing cognitive decline that interferes with daily life, with Alzheimer’s disease being its most common form. Symptoms often begin with mild memory loss and confusion but progress to difficulties with communication, mobility, and self-care.
Common signs of dementia include:
- Memory loss that disrupts daily activities
- Difficulty planning or solving problems
- Confusion with time or place
- Trouble understanding visual images and spatial relationships
- Withdrawal from work or social activities
As the condition advances, professional in-home dementia care becomes essential for ensuring the individual’s well-being and safety.
Benefits of Dementia Specialized Care:
Choosing a provider who has specially trained Dementia Experts offers several advantages, including:
- Specialized Care: No more instances of worrying over whether or not a caregiver has the skill to provide safe care for these unique needs.
- Familiar environment: A person can remain in their home, surrounded by their familiar environment and loved ones.
- Supported independence: Being able to get the specialized assistance required allows a person to maintain control over their routines, exercise the freedom to make decisions regarding the care they need and want day to day and most importantly – stay safe at home.
- Reduced Safety Risks: Specially trained caregivers utilize the correct techniques required with this type of support, ensuring safe care at all times.
- Peace of mind for families: Knowing a loved one is receiving professional care relieves stress, brings comfort and provides needed respite for family members. With our Family Portal, clients/family members can view schedules, caregiver assignments and completed care logs, which allows for remote oversight of care at all times. Families can also communicate directly with the scheduling team in a HIPAA secured environment.
