As a direct care worker, I take care of my 97 year old mom. Home care is very important to us as it keeps mom at home – safe, and independent. At home we provide companionship, peace of mind and love. You cannot put a price on that. It is also much less expensive than putting mom in a facility. My wages help offset expenses such as food and higher utilities (have to keep the house warmer for mom).
